Terms of service.

Reconstruction Agreement

By engaging with Love in Details, the client agrees to the following terms: The seamstress has the necessary qualifications and experience to complete the agreed-upon services. This agreement begins on the date it is signed and remains in effect until the project is completed. A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required before any work begins, with the remaining balance due upon project completion. Both parties agree to indemnify and hold each other harmless from any losses, damages, liabilities, or legal fees arising from the agreement. This indemnification remains in effect after the agreement concludes, ensuring clarity and protection for all parties involved.

Liability Disclaimer

I am not responsible for any pre-existing wear, stains, or structural weaknesses in the original fabric provided by the client. Clients must acknowledge and accept full responsibility for any sentimental or financial loss associated with altering the heirloom. Additionally, the client should understand that due to the age, fragility, or inherent flaws in the material, there is a potential risk of damage during the reconstruction process. By proceeding with the service, the client agrees to these terms and assumes the associated risks.

Design and Approvals

Clients can trust that I possess the necessary qualifications, experience, and skills to deliver the desired service. It is also important to allow the seamstress creative freedom to make adjustments and alterations as needed to achieve the best results. During the consultation, we will discuss your vision, sizing and expectations for redesigning your heirloom item. Afterward, I will provide a detailed summary of our discussion, outlining the agreed-upon design concept. Once I receive the heirloom item and assess the materials, I may offer additional suggestions to enhance the final design. Any changes or recommendations will be communicated via email, accompanied by photos for clarity and context.

Pricing and Payment Policies

Pricing will include an itemized list of costs, covering labor, and additional materials needed to ensure full transparency. A deposit of 30% is required to secure the project and cover initial costs. The remaining balance will be due upon completion of the project. These terms ensure a smooth and transparent payment process for both parties.

Timeline and Deadlines

A minimum of four months is required to complete a project, ensuring the integrity of the bespoke process. Production times may vary depending on the complexity of the project, and clients will be informed of specific timelines at the outset. Rush services may be available for an additional fee if a faster turnaround is needed. While every effort will be made to meet deadlines, potential delays due to factors such as supply chain issues or the need for material repairs will be communicated promptly.

Shipping and Handling

Clients are responsible for shipping heirloom items to my location and should ensure they are securely packaged to prevent damage during transit. If the client is in close proximity, the item can also be dropped off directly. Guidance on proper packaging will be provided if needed. Return shipping costs will be clearly stated, whether included in the service fee or charged separately. While all efforts are made to safeguard items, policies regarding lost or damaged packages, including available insurance options, will be outlined to protect both parties during the shipping process.

Confidentiality and Social Media Usage

Confidentiality and privacy are integral to working with heirlooms. Clients have the option to request that their heirloom’s story remain confidential, ensuring it is not shared without their permission. Additionally, explicit consent will be obtained before using any before-and-after photos of the heirloom for marketing purposes, including on social media platforms, website, and portfolio purposes. This ensures respect for the client's privacy while maintaining transparency in the use of their heirloom's transformation for promotional materials.

Refunds

Due to the custom nature of the work, refunds or exchanges are not available once production begins. However, exceptions may be made if the final product significantly deviates from the approved design discussed during the consultation. This policy ensures clarity and fairness while maintaining the integrity of the custom creation process.

Care Instructions

Care instructions will be provided to help clients preserve the integrity of their repurposed keepsake, ensuring it remains a cherished item for years to come. However, it is important to note that I am not responsible for any damage caused by improper handling or cleaning after the item has been delivered. Following the maintenance guidelines will help protect the keepsake and maintain its quality.
